This painting will be on display at the Ludens Theatre in Voorburg from September 2025. It measures 80 cm x 60 cm and is made of olive oil canvas. The girl is wearing Snow White's clothes. I chose to depict her teeth, which were changing at the time the painting was created, as I've rarely seen this in temporary paintings.
The lively little boy represents a dragon with two red horns on his hat. He is full of humor and has a broad smile in the painting. This is also his character in reality. The older boy had the sin of his wig falling just over his eyes; I'm probably also deeply affected by this difficult moment for him.
Carnival begins in the Catholic faith of Lent. All children wear clothes that are said to be funny and dance in the same way. You can also opt for small, humorous performances.
Hopefully everyone will be happy with the painting and it will help against doom-mongering
